Questions submitted to us about the Crossings project:
"What is the vision for the Crossings at Conestoga Creek?"
Our goal is to deliver a sustainable, high-quality, Main Street-oriented, mixed-use development that will create new jobs, generate significant tax revenues, and enhance quality of life by adding a unique amenity in the community. "What stores will be at the location and how many in total?"
We haven't ruled out any retailers at the moment, with the exception of Wal-Mart, and we expect there to be 20 or more stores. They would include everything from clothing retailers to restaurants to specialty shops. "What will the residential component of the project consist of?"
One-, two-, and three-bedroom upscale, multi-family, for-lease homes will be offered. We intend to develop approximately 250-260 units featuring three unique amenity-laden floor plans to serve residents who are leasing by choice. Some homes would be two- to three-story garden apartments with internal parking garages. "What will happen to the historic farmhouse located on this site?"
The farmhouse will be historically preserved and re-adapted
for new use and a new chapter of its continuing history. "Will the new stores take away business from the downtown retail
shops?"
Market research shows that Lancaster is under-stored and that
significant revenues are being lost by consumers traveling out of town
to shop at venues unavailable here. The retailers that would participate
in this kind of center will complement the existing independent shops and
cultural activities by adding to the comprehensiveness of the kinds of
experiences available in Lancaster County. "Would it be possible for the retail and park spaces at The Crossings
to be WiFi-accessible?"
It certainly is possible that we could have much of the public
spaces at The Crossings be WiFi accessible so that visitors can access
the Internet from their laptops. This is the kind of suggestion we will
explore further as the project evolves.
